The Midlothian Science Festival is a varied, rich, stimulating and accessible programme of science events throughout Midlothian for all the family.

As part of the Festival, staff and students of the University of Edinburgh will be on hand at the annual Easter Bush Campus Open Day on Saturday 12th October.

Visitors of all ages can take a look inside the world famous Roslin Institute and Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies.  As well as viewing some of the buildings on Campus, there will be activities and opportunities to engage with scientists, vets, staff and students.


The full programme for Midlothian Science Festival 2019 will be available later in the summer.

Meanwhile if you would like to get involved... New for 2019, Midlothian Science Festival want more local individuals and groups to be involved in the Festival from the start.

Local people and community groups are invited to volunteer, to help with festival planning, event development and management and various behind the scenes roles. 

You can suggest an event for the Festival to run with you group, create an event (with our support) for your local area. No experience is necessary and you donít need to have a science background / any specific scientific experience or skills.
