Sustainable production of high-quality animal proteins for a growing world population is the key challenge for livestock industry in the future. In 2050, resilient and healthy animals need to produce enough animal proteins in a resource-efficient and societally accepted way to feed the world’s population.

Animal breeding relies on research and development and on long-term commitment to meet the changing consumer demands to increase efficiency in the food chain, to reduce the ecological footprint, to minimize the use of antibiotics, and to contribute to food safety, and to better health and welfare of livestock.

WCGALP is the conference to share knowledge and to interact on innovations in the area of genetics applied to livestock production that enable to breed animals that allow livestock production chains to meet future needs. The participants are specialists in the field of animal genetics and related expertise. During the congress they share knowledge and interact on innovations in the area of genetics applied to livestock production. We are strongly committed to bring science and industry of all continents together in formal sessions and in informal networks to learn from their latest developments.

AbacusBio will be presenting at the conference on a range of diverse topics including genetic challenges and solutions, societal issues, breeding goals and strategies, bovine beef and dairy, and pollinators.

A new online landing page has been designed in preparation for the conference, and to continue the conversation after the range of WCGALP sessions, by booking a 30-minute appointment with one of the consulting team from UK or New Zealand offices.
