KTN Investment event to showcase the UK's cross sectoral Agri-Tech expertise

Friday 13th July 2018, 10:00am

Interest in Agri-Tech is growing. The challenge of increasing productivity whilst reducing environmental impact requires innovation across the sector.  To support and build this emerging community the KTN is delighted to host the second Agri-Tech Investment showcase.

Roslin Innovation Centre tenant, Beta Bugs, a company optimising insects for industry, has been selected to participate in the training programme to secure a place to showcase at the October event.

There is an ongoing need for private investment in Agri-Tech to further advance the sustained public investments and technical excellence within the UK which has been recognised by the KTN.  With additional Innovate UK support we have prioritised this need and are continuing to support and build the Agri-Tech investment community.

At a previous investor only event, discussions were held on the desired aims and format for subsequent events and improved ongoing engagement.  A short video of the highlights of this event can be found here.  The committed support and input of numerous key Agri-Tech investors has shaped the second showcase event, which will be  held on 15th October at Prince Phillip House, Pall Mall, London.  This event enables KTN to continue to support the Agri-Tech business and investor communities as they fulfil their ambitions and translate innovation into ongoing commercial benefits.

The 2018 showcase event will enable up to 14 businesses based in the UK to present their innovations to an audience of investors targeting Agri-Tech opportunities. The competition for companies is now closed and 24 selected businesses are about to start on our Investment Showcase training programme of pitch training and KTN mentoring, in preparation for selection of the 14 finalists for the October Showcase.  There were far more high quality applications than available places for this year's event, and following a tough selection panel the businesses selected for the training programme reflect the cross sectoral Agri-Tech expertise from the UK.

The selected businesses include:-

Robotics & Engineering Solutions - Imagination Factory, KMS Projects, RootWave, Earth Rover, RoboScientific, PES Technologies, Farm-Hand, Perpetual Research Consultancy, Fotenix, Climate Edge, Grobotic Systems, Small Robot Company.

Digital Agriculture - Breedr, Agronomex, Agricompas, Hectare Agritech, Outfield.

Novel Production Systems - Beta Bugs, Activirosomes, Phytoform Labs, CropVax, Liquid Vision Innovation, Entomics, LettUs Grow.
