For many early stage companies in One Health, the route to market for veterinary products is quicker than that of human products.

As such, assuming the veterinary product is adequately tested and approved, it offers a potential revenue stream for your company while you continue to develop the product for the human market.

Companies can collaborate with Easter Bush Campus Vet Clinical Researchers in a variety of ways.

1. Diagnostic test development programmes which utilise the following technologies:

  • Mass spectrometry - continuing to develop a wide range of endocrine tests using mass spectrometry based tests which can detect very low concentrations of metabolites in a wide range of sample types.
  • Whole genome diagnostic sequencing facility - developing new, faster and cheaper ways to diagnose genetic diseases in our patients.
  • Diagnostic sequencing for infectious diseases - utilising cutting-edge bench top sequencing technologies to develop tests to more rapidly diagnose infectious diseases, and identify antimicrobial resistance.
  • World-leading clinical facilities - including 1.5-T MRI, 64-slice CT, fluoroscopy, arthroscopy, laparoscopy, dedicated intensive care units and isolation facilities, with over 250 staff supporting our three hospitals.
2. Request access to the Veterinary Biobank with over 65k samples, across a range of species, including dogs, cats, rabbits, horses and cattle. This data provides a comprehensive resource to test the suitability of your early prototype for the vet market.

3. Co-development of a Vet Clinical Trial to specifically test your diagnostic/treatment, speeding up the enablement to vet market, including those requiring home-office approval.

4. Seek specialist advice. With over 90 veterinary specialists on-site, and discipline-specific expertise across companion animals, equine, farm, exotic and wild animals, Vet Clinical Researchers can provide the specialist technical advice (consultancy) required to unlock any specific roadblock you may have in the development of your product.

In addition, the consultancy can provide essential information on the sector, which will enable you to understand your unique selling points and enhance your value proposition.
